It came as no surprise when the Donald City Council voted unanimously to award and recognize veteran volunteer Connie Lindsay as Community Member of the Year for 2023. Selfless, tireless and talent were just a few words used to describe Connie. Of the many projects and events Connie has volunteered for she said “I really enjoy planning and helping develop the Santa Sing-Along holiday celebration. It’s so rewarding to see the kids meet Santa, enjoy the crafts and sing holiday songs together.” Connie encourages others in Donald to volunteer, as it “can provide you with a sense of pride and community identity.” If you’d like to get involved, the Donald Festival Committee is working to bring back Donald Daze, a celebration of the rich agriculture of the area and could use your ideas and volunteer support. Connie is looking forward to a great 2024 and plans to continue volunteering as the Chairperson of the Donald Festival Committee.
